Sad to say, less than impressed.

I used to get my cocktail fix at this bar a few years back when it was 'The Grapevine' but hadn't had the pleasure of visiting since the revamp, until now. I have to say, except for the name change I didn't notice any major differences to the interior. Tucked away in a little lane at the bottom of town, I had hoped it would still be a slightly trendier bar for a more mature crowd, and yes there were no inebriated youngsters but I did not leave impressed. I visited on a Saturday night with a group of about fifteen, and I can forgive them the fact that they only had Stella on tap, they even had a sign on the bar apologising. However what I cannot forgive is why the downstairs bar, much bigger with more seating, was closed off. Fair enough maybe in the week or when there are only a handful of patrons but I had just come in for a Birthday drink and brought them 15 peoples custom, but alas when we walked down the stairs the less than friendly bouncer marched us back up again. No explanation or apologies given, Not impressed.

    The Chapel Bar

This tapas and cocktail bar on Chapel Lane in Tunbridge Wells is open 5 days a week. The Chapel Bar takes pride in fine wines including the crisp sauvignon blanc and the cabernet sauvignon red plus other delights.

    Great Atmosphere and awesome wines

The Chapel Bar has a fantastic selection of drinks in a nicely intimate and social atmosphere, one of jewels in the Tunbridge Wells crown.
