Best Pet Shop In Tunbridge Wells
I moved to Tunbridge Wells 12 years ago from Slough, Berkshire and have been going into Pets In Town since then. They are the best pet shop in Tunbridge Wells and surrounding areas. For starters they care about the animals (which says alot these days!) and I have always found them to be very friendly and helpful. I have had many animals in that time: a dog, rabbits, guinea pig, rats, hamsters, tree frogs, fish, a snake, and a bearded dragon. They have always been more than happy to answer any of my questions, no matter how big or small, offer useful advice and help me with special orders or anything else I need for my animals. I have recommended them to all my friends with pets and will continue to do so in the future. Not many good friendly family run shops left now, certainly not pet shops. So thanks guys and keep up the good work!

Awful Experience! Will not be returning or recommending!!
Having accompanied my daughter and some friends to this shop to chose some fish to give as a gift, one of which subsequently died, I returned to the shop today to ask for an exchange. The dead fish clearly had not been right as soon as it was out into the tank, the others however were lively and continue to be so. It was apparent from the off set that the 'gentleman owner/manager' and I use the expression loosely, had no intention of agreeing to supplying a replacement and his manner was aggressive and abrasive! Now we are not talking exotic fish keeping, just regular cold water fish and I have some experience of keeping them myself.
I was not offered any form of apology, I was however hit with a mass of reasons as to why I had been responsible for the death of this fish supplied. I explained that I had taken care to transfer the three fish purchased and that the remaining two were clearly happy and healthy in the tank. I was told that I had clearly not followed their advise on fish keeping, I had been given non and to quote ''Quite frankly if I gave out replacement fish to everyone who complained of a dead one where would I be, I have no idea what you might have done to the fish between buying it and now''. Also, ''Who is to say you wouldn't kill the replacement were I to give you one'' I stated that if I were given a replacement and it failed to survive a few days, I was happy to agree that they were not to blame, but was told that they would not give me one!
To summarise, I have never experienced such an aggressive, defensive and truly unpleasant form of 'customer service' and will not be returning to the shop in future. I purchased a replacement fish from Pets at Home, the staff were informative, asked for lots of in depth information about the intended care for the fish and were extremely pleasant; plus their fish were cheaper!By NutCottage at 16:32 on 21/03/12
