Auditioning for new Acting Academy
Training', will be joining The Canterbury High School in auditioning potential
performers for a new Acting Academy.
Canterbury High School are about to open the county’s VERY
FIRST free of charge Acting Academy for students aged 16 and above (6th form)
at The Canterbury High School, Canterbury Kent.
Auditions are being held on 2nd February 2011 from 10am to
4pm.
Successful applicants will receive Diploma training in the
performing arts as well as studying for an A level. Once a week students will spend a day with
'Actors Training' to learn a few trade secrets! A Tunbridge Wells based
training company, ‘Actors Training’ specialises in preparing people for
achieving entrance into drama schools and University. Unlike many other actor training
companies ‘Actors Training’ tutors are working
professional Actors and Directors resulting in the students benefiting from the
very latest methods in screen and theatre technique.
The successful students joining the Black Hole Academy of
Acting will also have the opportunity to audition for a talent agency,
providing them with as many opportunities as any professional actor.
The course will run for two years resulting in a BTEC National
Diploma in Performing Arts and an A Level qualification in a subject of your
choice, all studied at The Canterbury High School.
Actor James Anderson (Dr Oliver Valentine, Holby City) will
be on the auditioning panel, along with Top Talent Agency ‘Actors Training’ and
Bigfoot Theatre Company.
This is a fantastic
opportunity for students who want to train as an actor or performing artist.
Applicants must prepare a two minute monologue and expect to
take part in workshop style auditions throughout the day.
