is back in town this week with Tunbridge Wells Fashion Week.
An event, born back in February this year which witnesses the collaboration of
local fashionistas and real models showcasing the best fashion Tunbridge Wells has
to offer. The aim of TWFW, according
to Louise Clark of The Brew House Hotel, the organisers of the event, is to
make fashion achievable and fun and put Tunbridge Wells on the fashion show map
with its regular spring and autumn home grown collections. As before Gingermonkeys designed the show
masterminding its distinctive image whilst The
Chapel designed the hair.
Last
night we were treated to boutiques and designers such as Mini Maya, Noa
Noa, Bod and Ted, Gently
Worn Vintage, Kitch,
London, Booboo Burlesque, Jaeger,
Stile, Any Occasion
and La Belle Femme.
The
tone was set with an opening hip hop dance routine by Dance Troupe from Elite Street Dance , fun,
energetic and a hundred percent Tunbridge Wells this dance group were rehearsed
and flawless.
Stunning
models dressed in sophisticated leathers and fur courtesy of Mini Maya came
first, with some dead cute kiddie’s fur gilets. Dusky coloured vintage layering
from Noa Noa with flirty skirts, drapey scarves and crochet dresses followed. With
funky retro from Bod and Ted with some fabulous fringed boots and voluminous
jumpers.
Gently
Worn Vintage wowed the audience with stunning millinery, gorgeous gowns and
glamorous jewells. And surely the
highlight of the show was the beautiful Jana gliding down the catwalk in a 1950s
Norman Hartnell black velvet ball gown, Miss V Peacock Feather Hat by Catherine
Povey and Vintage Dior Gloves.
Country
Stile delighted with its traditional stylish rural wear, it is the only place
to buy your wellington boots in Tunbridge Wells.
Jaeger
was sublimely elegant with a fur trim camel swing coat amongst its furs, suede and
fabulous knitwear. The suited men’s wear aiming for the sophisticated man about
town!
Gorgeous,
gorgeous Ella stunned the audience with Kitch’s Antik Batik dress and lovely Jana modelled a fabulous Butter
stripe dress which apparently can be worn 30 different ways!
An audacious
and sexy routine from Rose of Booboo Burlesque showed us exactly how to perform
when wearing a Purple Corset Effect Top, Showgirl Bustle, suspenders , Black
Ruffle Moulin Rouge Knickers, a Black Mini Top Hat Fascinator and a feather boa
much to the utter delight of her audience.
Once
again Tunbridge Wells Fashion Week proved to its audience that we don’t need to
leave our back garden in order to find beauty and style. A huge round of applause to all you amazing
designers.

On the 30th of September my friend Olivia and I went to The Brew House, Tunbridge Wells to watch Tunbridge Wells Fashion Week. We saw night two of the event. The fashion show was made up of 15 local boutiques showing off their autumn/winter collections.
Personally I really enjoyed the fashion show, there was a great atmosphere and the clothes were mainly very nice. Although the models were volunteers they were extremely good and it all looked very professional. I also liked that the clothes were very wearable so if you wanted, you could go out and buy them. I liked that the models were of all different shapes, sizes and ages, this was good as it showed that everyone would suit the clothes no matter what age they were or size they were.
I really enjoyed the show and there wasn’t really anything I didn’t enjoy, I liked the clothes, even if they were a little too expensive to buy, and the whole event had a great vibe. The venue was only small but it meant that there was a better atmosphere and you could see everything really well.
I would definitely recommend someone to go to this event, although it was not London fashion week, it was very good and I liked the range of outfits and it showed how many different boutiques and what style we have here in Tunbridge Wells.
