Word Up

Word Up. At the forum. Wed 27th March. This is a new night featuring the UK's best new performance poets, while mixing that with a slam (poetry competition) for brave new artists to take part. Creating a situation where professional poets and new comers can mix and feed off each other.

Hosted by master of ceremonies- Dwella.

This month the headliners are:

Invokal - Emcee, poet, singer. "Invokal takes the listener on a ramble through concrete culture, with stop offs at bad relationships, alternative life styles and sometimes even politics. His syllable placement and play with triple barrel rhyming are coupled with the emotion he manages to squeeze in, then coated in lovely metaphors and delivered with a smile."

and Tommy Sissons - "Emc Sissons is the dictionary definition of 'up and coming'. Young, talented and full of ideas. Tommy shows a maturity in his work, and brings both authenticity and emotion into his words, something rare these days, particularly in hip hop."
