CAMEO is a pilot project to set up a new service for people who have found themselves single and isolated due to the death or separation of a partner. The project will run three 12-week programmes, each for 12-20 participants.
The programme will consist of a series of workshops designed to equip participants with the practical skills their partner did in their relationship, which they now need to live independently. For example, personal safety and home security, healthy living, personal finances, online and telephone banking, general car maintenance, community services, simple DIY. We will incorporate a social event, such as a pub lunch or theatre trip. CAMEO groups will provide an extended social circle and opportunities to learn new and essential life skills.
