Can you act? Audition for Tunbridge Wells 'Bard in the Park' if so!

Auditions for The Tempest will be held on Saturday, 23rd of July, 2011 at the Trinity Arts Centre, Church Road from 10.30am till 12.30pm and 1pm till 3pm.

Auditions announced for Tunbridge Wells Bard in the Park
Some actors from both sessions will be asked to return at 5.30pm for a short second audition. If you're not asked back it will not necessarily mean you have been unsuccessful.
There is no need to prepare anything in advance of the audition. However, please come dressed for moving around including appropriate footwear. You should also download an audition form, print, complete all sections and bring this with you.
We shall be looking, especially, for strong (i.e. loud) speaking voices, a sense of ease with the language of Shakespeare, and an ability to move following direction.
Casting will be announced and communicated to all who auditioned within two days of the auditions.
Characters to be cast:
Alonso, King of Naples, M/F, 40 plus: regal, shows emotion
Sebastian, Alonso's brother, M/F, 40 plus: ambitious
Prospero, usurped duke of Milan, M/F, 40 plus: fatherly, complex, powerful
Antonio, Prospero's brother, M/F, 40 plus: Machiavellian
Ferdinand, Alonso's son, M, 16 plus: loyal, loving
Gonzalo, M/F, 50 plus: old, honest, optimistic
Adrian, a lord, M/F, 30 plus: courtly
Francisco, a lord M/F, 30 plus: courtly
Caliban, Prospero's slave, M, 16 plus: agile, accent required
Trinculo, a jester, M/F, 25 plus: accent, comic, agile
Stephano, a drunken butler, M/F, 25 plus: drunkard, comic, agile, accent
Miranda, Prospero's daughter, F, 16 plus: naive, wide eyed
Ariel, an airy spirit, M/F, 16 plus: fast, agile, loyal, good singer
The remaining roles, including ship's master, boatswain, mariners, Iris, Ceres, Juno, etc. will be filled by members of a chorus all of whom should be agile and some of whom must be able to sing.
Please note that this is a community-based project and, as such, all participants will be unpaid volunteers. We are also looking for volunteers to help as stewards, with sewing and many other jobs. If you're interested in helping out off-stage please get in contact via our Facebook page.
