X Factor boy band District 3 - voted out of the competition on Sunday night - will be switching on the Christmas Lights in Tunbridge Wells TONIGHT.

Dan Ferrari-Lane, Micky Parsons and Greg West will join Heart FM's Toby Anstis at the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre for the big event from 6pm.

The trio were voted off the popular ITV1 show on Sunday after going head-to-head with fellow boy band Union J.

Their mentor Louis Walsh refused to chose between his two acts, meaning it was up to his fellow judges to decide with a majority vote.

Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger both opted to save Union J, meaning Tulisa's would-be vote for District 3 would have been over-powered.

Last year, the Tunbridge Wells lights should have been switched on by Amelia Lily. But, following Frankie Cocozza's infamous exit from the show, she was re-admitted back into the competition.

And so it fell to James Michael to push the button. In 2010, Davina McCall was in town to switch on the illuminations.

This year's event will be hosted by Heart FM's Toby Anstis, and will also feature music from boy band FTW.

The entertainment starts at 2.30pm when children will get the chance to meet Sid and Diego from blockbuster film Ice Age. Further meet and greets will take place at 3.30pm, 5.30pm and 7pm.

Santa Claus will arrive in his Winter Wonderland Grotto at 4.30pm, and the switch on party will kick off at 6pm.
