A Tunbridge Wells man has been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following a stop check in Tonbridge.

On the evening of 8 January, neighbourhood officers stopped a vehicle in The Slade - and during a search uncovered 16 bags of cannabis, believed to be worth in the region of £320.

A 24-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis.

He was later released on bail until 13 March, pending further investigation.

Police Constable Ben Clatworthy said: 'Seizing drugs prevents them from being sold and can help reduce reports of other crime such as anti-social behaviour and theft.

'I would encourage anyone who has any information about drugs offences to contact us so we can follow up the information and take action.'
