It'll come as no shock to many after the freezing temperatures we've experienced over the past few days, but this afternoon, the Met Office finally confirmed that we are in for snow over the next few days here in Tunbridge Wells.

Already the whole of the UK has been on a level 3 cold weather alert since Tuesday, but it's now predicted that snow will hit the Eastern coasts of the UK over the weekend, sweeping across parts of Kent, East Anglia and the Midlands.

It's expected that anywhere between 2-5cm will fall in Tunbridge Wells.

Temperatures will not rise above 1C until Sunday when we could enjoy balmy day time highs of 4C - but the mercury could plummet to -3C in the Tunbridge Wells area tonight.

Total accumulations from this snow event over the weekend are likely to be around 5-10cm in many places - this includes low lying areas.

The public are advised that this is likely to lead to some travel disruption on Saturday and Sunday and should pay close attention to forecasts as the weekend approaches.
