Congratulations to the (staggeringly young looking!) 31-year old Tunbridge Wells mum Hayley Gibson, who last week launched a new discount reward card for Tunbridge Wells shoppers.

Local traders in Tunbridge Wells are going head-to-head with the town's big retailers by signing up to a discount loyalty card.

More than 40 local businesses have joined the TW Reward Card scheme, which gives customers discounts of up to 50 per cent.

Hayley said, "I love the town's gorgeous independent shops, cafes and restaurants.

"However, for me, as with so many families nowadays, money is very tight and I find myself looking for discounts and offers wherever possible."

The 31-year-old mother of two, who lives off Vernon Road, said the scheme would "reward local business and reward local people".

By paying a small annual fee, customers will be entitled to deals from businesses including women's clothes shop Love is Boutique, Camden Road hairdressers Azur and Church Road wine specialists The Secret Cellar.

Participating businesses will offer either a discount, a buy-one-get-one-free offer or an "exclusive package". Diners will also be able to use the card in many different restaurants and cafes.

I've got mine! Brilliant thinking - and so many new independent businesses have already signed up to participate. See http://tinyurl.com/3gb7clj for an up-to-date list of who they are - and what you can save at each.
