Local Couple Celebrate Their Dream Win

The national
furore surrounding a celebration draw by South East Fertility Clinic (SEFC)
last year has proved a blessing for one of the lucky winning couples. Mr and
Mrs K from Wadhurst believed their chances of completing their family had
passed them, but a last moment decision to enter a Celebration Offer draw has
brought them double success.
Not only did
they win £1000 off a cycle of IVF, but also the treatment was successful and
they now excitedly await the birth of twins in October. Almost exactly a
year after they became one of five winners in the celebratory draw.
The unexpected
controversy surrounding the offer of discounted treatment prompted patients at
SEFC to voice their support of the Clinic and the opportunity being offered to
friends and family.
"We entered
the competition after seeing the reports on the news. We were unaware of the
draw until we saw it being discussed on the television. At that point we had
given up on the hope of having another baby." Mr K said.
"We have had
three previous cycles of IVF with one successful. We entered the draw without
much hope of winning. Then we heard the news that we were one of the five lucky
couples. It was a great surprise. This was going to be our final cycle due to
age, money and whole process being very emotional. We are now delighted with
the news that not only has it worked but that we are now pregnant with twins. We
would like to say a big thank you to the SEFC Team, especially Mr Michael
Rimington." Mrs K continued.
So it would seem
the outspoken reaction from Ann Widdecombe, and Terry Christian who publicly threatened
physical assault against SEFC's managing director Ruth Hardy, actually led Mr
and Mrs K to SEFC's door again and the chance to fulfill their dream of having a
brother or sister for their daughter.
Managing
director of SEFC, Ruth Hardy said. "All the staff here are delighted for Mr and
Mrs K – they are such fantastic parents. It is always such a joy to see
happy couples when they finally see their baby on a scan and watch their dreams
become reality. To find that it's twins means so much to them and us. It's
a real privilege to play a part in that lifelong journey of parenthood."
