One of the strangest stories to emerge about Tunbridge Wells this week is the claims that a British Bigfoot has been spotted in woodland near the town.

Kent News reports that the 'Kentish Apeman' has recently been spotted on Tunbridge Wells Common - the exact spot where it was also apparently seen 70 years ago.

The beast is reportedly eight-foot tall, has red demonic eyes and is covered in hair.

Other sightings have claimed the monster has also been on the prowl in Darftord and Blue Bell Hill, near Maidstone.

The newspaper's report does not say who it is that claims to have seen the animal this time around, lending doubts to the story's credibility.

But it does say an author called Graham S went online recently to say that when he was working as a painter his elderly client said she had come face to face with apeman on the Common during WW2.

So, have YOU seen the Kentish Apeman in Tunbridge Wells? And, more importantly, do you have a picture? Let us know!

I have heard the story of the creature on the common many times!

My grandparents encountered a strange creature on VJ Day 1945 whilst sitting on a bench on the common.

They were watching the firework celebrations when they heard a noise behind them.

Upon turning around, a non-human creature came towards them, it was silent as it moved and they were quite scared so they did what anyone would do when approached by something scary and unknown - RUN!!!

I shall look forward to sharing this news story with my Nan tomorrow...

This has jogged my memory back a few years to when myself and a few mates were having a laugh on the rocks next to the common late at night. When across the cricket pitch we saw two red lights about the height of a man, flickering,

We thought it might've been a dog walker with a strange torch or something like that at first, but dismissed this theory after about half an hour when the eyes hadn't moved move than about 2-3metres.

    Something was watching us.

We thought it was unusual that the cricket club house lights hadn't been activated when there was clearly something there.

Myself and my friends decided we should go in for a closer look, however upon walking closer the eyes disappeared.
